Several states have sustainable hospitality programs, but North Carolina’s program is the most extensive, helping a wider variety of tourism businesses become recognized as sustainable destinations.

Travel-oriented businesses can apply for recognition through an online application on the NC GreenTravel Initiative’s website. Businesses can also request environmental technical assistance through the program at no cost.
