Tennessee Green Star Partnership Highlight - Valmont Newark

Green Star Partnership (TGSP) is an environmental leadership program facilitated by the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation. The partnership recognizes Tennessee industries that are committed to sustainability and that exhibit continuous improvement throughout their entire operation. Sharing successes, networking, and best management practices are just a few of the opportunities TGSP offers its members.

Benefits of membership in the TGSP include recognizing and sharing success in sustainability. The TGSP develops partner highlights as one of the many ways sustainability in action is shared through it’s members. This month’s (September 2016) partner highlight is Valmont Newmark.  Valmont Industries is recognized throughout the world as a leader in irrigation systems and engineered products for infrastructure.

In 1946, Robert Daugherty committed his entire savings of just over $5,000 to founding Valmont Industries with the belief that business could and should be done better. More than a half century later, Valmont Newmark in Jasper, Tennessee is an integral part of that vision.
