KPPC, a part of the University of Louisville J.B. Speed School of Engineering, is a state-mandated, non-regulatory environmental technical assistance resource center that helps Kentucky’s businesses, industries and other organizations stay environmentally sustainable and competitive. Through the center’s on-site assessments, training, workshops, webinars, online resources and recognition programs, KPPC leverages the ENERGY STAR platform to help clients establish sustainable, self-directed energy management programs.

KPPC’s application for the award stood out among a highly competitive pool of submissions, said Jean Lupinacci, Chief, Energy Star Commercial and Industrial Branch. “Your outstanding accomplishments prove that improved energy performance is good for the environment and good for business. Your dedication to saving energy, your commitment to measuring and tracking progress, and your efforts to communicate the importance of energy efficiency to a broad audience distinguishes your organization as an industry leader.”

The 2014 Partner of the Year – Sustained Excellence Awards are given to a select group of organizations that have exhibited outstanding leadership year after year. These awards recognize ongoing leadership across the Energy Star program, including energy-efficient products, services, new homes and buildings in the commercial, industrial and public sectors. Award winners are selected from the nearly 20,000 organizations that participate in the Energy Star program.

An Energy Star partner since 2005, KPPC won the prestigious Energy Star Partner of the Year Award in 2011 and 2012, and the Sustained Excellence Award in 2013 and again in 2014. A list of all the 2014 Award recipients can be found on the EPA’s Energy Star website.
