Delaware community water quality improvement projects – grant workshop

DOVER (July 20, 2012) – DNREC’s Division of Watershed Stewardship will hold an informational workshop from 9 to 11 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 2, 2012 on grants available for community water quality improvement projects. Representatives from state or municipal governments, agencies, or programs, non-profit organizations, educational institutions, community organizations and homeowner associations are encouraged to attend the workshop to learn more about project requirements and the application process. Projects proposals must be received by 4:30 p.m., August 30, 2012.

The Community Water Quality Improvement Grant is an annually determined set-aside in the Delaware Clean Water State Revolving Fund Non-Federal Administrative Account. The program is designed to assist municipalities, government agencies, and non-profit organizations with implementing projects or programs to improve water quality in impaired watersheds, consistent with plans developed for watershed improvements. Programs and projects selected will demonstrate innovative and sustainable methods, techniques, and/or practices for water quality improvements, with cost effective and measurable results.
