DEP Encourages Florida to Really Go Green for St. Patrick’s Day

TALLAHASSEE – As St. Patrick’s Day approaches, the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) encourages everyone to celebrate responsibly by practicing green living tips on March 17 and throughout the year.

St. Patrick’s Day is a day filled with everything green – from outfits and decorations to beverages and food.  What better way to really go green on St. Patrick’s Day than to practice some easy tips that can help the environment?

DEP has taken steps to go green as well.  DEP continues to implement the Florida Green Lodging Program, which recognizes lodging facilities that make a commitment to conserve Florida’s natural resources.  DEP regularly updates less-efficient energy sources, including lights in its buildings to cut down on consumption.
